Paul Helliar

Paul has been in the industry since the mid 80’s and a director here at D&T Electronics for over 30 years

Paul has been in the industry since the mid 80’s and a director here at D&T Electronics for over 30 years. As a director Paul likes to give the personalized experience when talking and designing a new project. Throughout the many years of working in the industry he has built up a large portfolio of clients and contractors alike. As he grew the small family business from a small shop on the Marylebone high street to what it is now Paul has always stuck to the motto of ‘success doesn’t find you. You have to go out and get it.’

Graduating from the University of Salford with a degree in statistics and economic history. Along with his degree Paul has gained many awards and accreditations throughout his professional career including being a director of Cedia, Director of the IVA (Indian Videogram Association) and a director of the BVA (British Videogram Association) to name but a few. Paul’s passion for discrete and efficient technology often finds him at design shows and exhibitions where a hands-on approach to testing new technology leads him to deliver a personalized system for each of his clients.

A strong work ethic and a strong team is the strong foundation D&T has been built upon. After work you can find Paul riding one of his many motorbikes or walking his beloved dog with the family.

CAD manager

Bryan Edwards

I have been with the company for 10 years now, prior to that I worked at my father’s electrical & mechanical design company for 22 years

I have been with the company for 10 years now, prior to that I worked at my father’s electrical & mechanical design company for 22 years. I started off as a draughtsman & when the computer age came along, moved into CAD which I learnt by doing a course at Excitec in Enfield. I am the one who will prepare & draw up all the Design drawings, which include Plans, Elevations & Cable Schematics.

In my spare time, I am a keen football fan & have a season ticket at Arsenal. I enjoy relaxing watching a good film & playing computer games. When I am not taking my dog for a walk, I enjoy being creative, from drawing to 3D graphics & animations.
I have been into computers from the early days, so when the chance came to change from working as a draughtsman on a drawing board, to using CAD, I embraced it & found the change a big step forward, I found that I enjoyed my work so much more. Other than AutoCAD, I have taught myself how to use some other useful programs for design & visualisation such as SketchUp, Podium & Lumion.

When it comes to CAD drawing, I am a bit of a perfectionist & try very hard to make my drawings detailed & stand out from the rest. My Father always said “You can never have enough detail on a drawing” & that has stuck with me for life.

Abubaker is currently learning all the skills needed to be an AV technician. Having recently finished studying electrical installation level 3 (City and Guilds) at Harrow college he worked as a steward at Wembley stadium whilst he got his qualifications. Being a newcomer in this field he has not had the chance to earn himself any accolades and achievements. However, now that Abubaker has finally got a foot in the door he is eager to learn and achieve! In his downtime Bakar’s biggest hobby is reading, his favorite genre being fantasy, for the escape from what we believe to be reality. One of his biggest interests would have to be technology simply because it’s what will shape the future generation of people and will inevitably adapt the way people think and act. His main inspiration is his family and religion which always encourages him to be the best version of himself and to keep learning and improving. In his time at D&T Electronics Bakar wants to learn as much as possible whilst working here giving his 100% so that his work is at a standard that will make him proud, and ultimately the customer happy with the services they have received.
